Academies and FE colleges with students aged 16 to 18 should publish their most recent 16 to 18 performance measures, as published by the Secretary of State, comprising their students’ headline: – progress (value added) measures – attainment measures – retention measures – destination measures

14 The school’s 16 to 18 results, identified as such, in the information published by the Secretary of State in the School Performance Tables, under the following categories— a progress; b attainment; c English and mathematics progress; d retention; e destinations.

16 to 19 accountability measures: technical guidance (September 2026, for the 2025 to 2026 academic year)
English & maths progress measures: these measures show, for students that did not achieve a grade 4 or above in English or maths GCSE at KS4, how much grade improvement students made from their KS4 GCSE result (or from their result at a previous 16-19 institution, if higher).

A level and other 16 to 18 results: academic year 2024/25 (official statistics)
The English and maths progress measure has returned this year following a period of absence since 2021/22 due to the impact of excluding CAG/TAG grades on this performance measure.

Does every school have to publish the 16 to 18 results?
Maintained schools must publish it. Academies should publish it. It only applies to schools with a sixth form.

We have updated the ‘test, exam and assessment results’ section. Some of the information which academies and FE colleges should publish has changed in that section. We have added a section on the information that FE colleges in intervention must publish. We have updated information for academies in the ‘behaviour policy’ section. We have also made changes to the ‘pupil premium’, ‘PE and sport premium’, ‘complaints policy’ and ‘governance information’ sections.

We have updated the ‘test, exam and assessment results’ section. Some of the information which schools must publish has changed in that section. We have added detail on what schools should publish about governors in the ‘governance information’ section. We have also made changes to the ‘pupil premium’, ‘PE and sport premium’ and ‘complaints policy’ sections.
